Salisbury will be in the spotlight this weekend for the 2024 Maryland Folk Festival, and along with all the great music and crafts, that will mean a swarm of people headed downtown this weekend.

For anyone who wants to get in on the fun, here's all to know about street closures, where to park for free and more.

Street closures in downtown Salisbury for 2024 Maryland Folk Festival

To accommodate the setup of stages, tents, and other festival infrastructure, here's when downtown streets will be closed and when they will reopen:

Where will free parking be offered at Maryland Folk Festival?

A parking lot downtown next to the library and parking garage will be changed into Unity Square Sept. 21, 2022, in Salisbury, Maryland.

Free parking will be available in the downtown parking garage during the road closures and throughout the festival.

Festivalgoers and downtown visitors are encouraged to plan their travel, allowing extra time to navigate detours and reach their destinations.

Signage and detours will be in place to ensure smooth traffic flow around the affected areas.

All to know about the 2024 Maryland Folk Festival

The Maryland Folk Festival a vibrant, large-scale, multi-day outdoor event featuring countless colorful and cultural musicians and performers is set to take place Friday beginning at 6 p.m. through Sunday, Sept. 20-22, 2024.

Hours will be 6-9:30 p.m. Friday, noon to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. On Friday, the Heart & Sole Performing Arts step team will lead the parade from the Plaza on Main Street to the Perdue Dance Stage at 6 p.m.
