'Fall in Love With Middleborough': A local food experience

The Friends of the Middleborough Public Library invite you to “Fall in Love With Middleborough,” a local food experience.

This event will be held at the Middleborough Public Library, 102 N. Main St., on Friday, Sept. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m.

There will be several new food vendors this year, as well as returning supporters.

Guests can get a taste of the town, while supporting the Friends of the Middleborough Public Library.

Harper Lane Brewery will be offering a variety of beverages at the cash bar.

There will also be a raffle table, featuring items from local businesses, and guests will also have the opportunity to place orders for specialty items and purchase gift certificates from participating food vendors.

Tickets are $20. All attendees must have a ticket.

Anyone under 21 years of age must be accompanied by a person who is 21 and older.

Weekly specials at Grove Street Tavern

Check out the weekly specials at Grove Street Tavern, 53 Grove St., Taunton.

This week, they’ve got Italian wedding and French onion soups, chicken wings, a fried clam and scallop combo, a tuna salad roll and chowder, a turkey, bacon and cheese melt, and an Italian sausage sub.

Plus, check out their hot Hawaiian chicken tenders, or the honey bee sting pizza, with a red sauce base, pizza and ricotta cheeses, pepperoni, Italian sausage, fresh basil, and hot honey.

Fall flavors at Fratelli’s Bakery & Cafe

Fratelli’s Bakery & Cafe, 1 Washington St., Taunton, has some sweet, autumnal treats.

Try some fallflavors, like their pumpkin cupcakes, or apple spice cupcakes.

Espresso at home workshop at The Neighbors Coffee & Co.

The Neighbors Coffee & Co., 32 Weir St., Taunton, is hosting an espresso at home workshop on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Learn how barista basics transfer to a home espresso machine, including milk steaming, pulling espresso, and basic latte art.

Participants will have a chance to get hands-on practice, taste, and ask questions, and they’ll also receive light refreshments and a drink with their ticket.

Bags of coffee to take home will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $55.

S’mores ice cream at Tom & Jimmy’s

Enjoy a campfire-side treat, in ice cream form, at Tom & Jimmy’s, 337 Winthrop St., Taunton.

Their s’mores ice cream has a graham cracker base, with a marshmallow swirl, and chocolate chips.
