Taylor Swift Accessorized Her Glam Evening Look With a Meghan Markle–Approved Accessory

Taylor Swift has been talking about LBDs since day one. “When you think happiness, I hope you think that little black dress,” she sang on her first-ever single, “Tim McGraw.” And last night, as she walked the streets of New York City, Swift proved that her love affair with little black dresses isn’t over just yet.
The pop superstar was spotted in a scoop neck bodycon dress, which she layered under a ‘70s-esque Penny Lane coat from Charlotte Simone. She kept the black theme going with a pair of slingback stiletto sandals from Giuseppe Zanotti (the same ones she wore to the London premiere of Beyoncé’s Renaissance film a mere week ago).
But the pièce de résistance was her astrology-themed clutch from Naeem Khan. The gold Zodiac armory clutch was adorned with gems in the shape of the Sagittarius constellation, also known as “The Archer,” a title which Swifties will surely recognize from Miss Americana’s Lover track of the same name. If you look closely at images of Swift holding the clutch, you can also see that she painted her nails red and green in the spirit of the season (she grew up on a Christmas tree farm, after all).
Royal aficionados may recognize this clutch, because Meghan Markle notably carried one back in 2018, while attending Queen Elizabeth’s 92nd birthday party.
Is Swift taking fashion tips from the Duchess of Sussex? If so, it’s evident that Meghan is just as big a fan of the Grammy winner because back in August, it was reported that she attended the Eras Tour at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. (Swift will continue the international leg of her tour in February 2024, with a series of shows in Japan).
