What temperature do you set your air conditioner? Vote in our poll

As the summer carries on in New Jersey and the state's first heat wave scorches through neighborhoods, National Weather Service advises people to stay indoors if possible with forecasts reaching extremely high temperatures.

Air conditioning will be in full effect for many resident but the lingering question remains, at what temperature should you set your AC?

Now it is time for New Jerseyans to settle the debate. Cast your vote below on where you or your families set the AC temperature at home.

Experts from Environment Protection Agency have weighed in and concluded 78 degrees Fahrenheit is optimal comfort and energy efficiency. Comfort levels obviously vary. To some, falling asleep in a bedroom that's 78 degrees may sound impossible.

The lower in degrees you set your thermostat, the more energy the AC will use in trying to reach that temperature according to All Comfort Services, an employee owned service company.

Some ways to help cool your house without lowering the temperature on your AC can be to put on fans, lower your curtain or blinds and seal leaks in order to make sure your windows and doors are closed properly.
