Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball: What NCAA teams are on 2024-25 schedule?

Coming off its first NCAA Tournament appearance, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team announced a challenging 2024-25 schedule on Wednesday.

The Islanders play at Texas A&M, Texas State, Baylor and UTSA in its first five games of the season, before a four-game homestand that begins in late November against UTEP and features the first of an expanded 20-game Southland Conference schedule.

Texas A&M and Baylor were each NCAA Tournament teams, along with A&M-Corpus Christi, in 2024. The Islanders went 23-9 last season, capped by a first-round loss to No. 1 seed USC in Los Angeles.

The Southland Conference expanded its league slate after it welcomed back Stephen F. Austin along with adding UTRGV in July.

Beginning his 13th season at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, coach Royce Chadwick called this the toughest schedule of his tenure.

"Opening with Texas A&M followed by Texas State and Baylor all on the road is a gargantuan challenge, and that's just the first two weeks of November," Chadwick said in a release. "We have a veteran team and we will be tested early and often. I believe it will only make us stronger for the Southland run."

The Islanders' home opener is Nov. 12 against Sul Ross. The Southland Conference Tournament returns to Lake Charles, Louisiana, on March 10-13.
