2024 Little League World Series bracket

The LLBWS has two brackets, one for the 10 United States regional champions, and one for the 10 International Regional champions.

Where is Boerne Little League?

Boerne is about 30 miles northwest of San Antonio and 90 miles southwest of Austin. It's the seat of Kendall County and has a population of more than 20,000.

The Boerne Little League Majors All-Star Team won the Southwest Region on Aug. 6 by beating Louisiana, 6-3, on the strength of a grand slam, according to the Boerne Star.

Why is Texas playing Florida?

Florida has already won two games to get to this point.

The Southeast Region champion took a second-inning lead Friday vs. Washington, the Northwest Region champs, and never trailed, winning 6-1. Washington, represented by South Hill Little League in Puyallup, allowed just four Florida hits but committed four errors in the game. Florida beat Washington behind an eight-strikeout effort from its pitchers and two RBI by James Feliciano.

Feliciano — Florida's ace — couldn't pitch Friday because he threw more than 80 pitches Wednesday, dominating South Dakota in a 2-1 win during Lake Mary's first game. He will be eligible to take the mound vs. Texas.

Texas beat Pennsylvania, 9-0. Boerne, which won the Southwest Region, banged out a LLWS-high 12 hits and three home runs. They struck the Pennsylvania lineup 12 times and held Council Rock Newtown Little League to just two hits, with none over the final three-plus innings.

All of Texas' pitchers, including ace Julian Hurst who had 10 strikeouts vs. Pennsylvania, will be able to throw for Boerne.

LLWS pitching limits

No player can toss more than 85 pitches in a day and no player can pitch three days in a row, regardless the number of pitches thrown. Here is how much rest is required for Little Leaguers ages 14 and under:

  • If a player pitches 51-65 pitches in a day, three days of rest is required.

  • If a player pitches 36-50 pitches in a day, two days of rest is required.

  • If a player pitches 21-35 pitches in a day, one day of request is required.

  • If a player pitches 1-20 pitches in a day, no rest is required.
