Three people were injured in a head-on collision on U.S. HIghway 101 in Grays Harbor County early Tuesday morning.

The collision occurred at 2:16 a.m. near milepost 70 of U.S. 101, which is north of Raymond, according to a Washington State Patrol press memo.

A 26-year-old driver from Astoria, Oregon, allegedly crossed the center divider as he traveled south on U.S. 101 and struck a Chevy truck head-on, the memo says. A 33-year-old Woodburn, Oregon, man reportedly drove the Chevy truck and 39-year-old South Bend man rode with him.

The South Bend man called dispatch and first responders transported all three men to Harbor Regional Health in Aberdeen, according to the memo. Both vehicles were totaled in the collision.

Trooper Katherine Weatherwax shared a photo of the collision on X. “Miraculously,” she said, there were no serious injuries.

State Patrol suspects drugs or alcohol were involved and the Astoria man may face a driving under the influence charge.

“Unfortunately, this is one of many collisions we see every day involving a DUI driver,” Weatherwax said on X. “Please drive sober ALWAYS!”
