The Traitors US future confirmed in season 3 update

The Traitors US fans, rejoice! The American version of the murder mystery reality show has been renewed for two more seasons beyond the upcoming season three.

Variety has reported that Alan Cumming and his gloriously OTT Scottish accent will return to chew every piece of scenery available, while season three has finished filming for release early next year.

The cast for season three of the American version, which started off with a mix of civilians and celebs but is all celebs now, includes Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause, RuPaul's Drag Race's Bob the Drag Queen, British royal Lord Ivar Mountbatten, Zac Efron's brother Dylan Efron, and Britney Spears' ex Sam Asghari, to name just a few.

Back in the UK, some of the fan-favourite cast members from this year's second season have started popping up here, there and everywhere.

Jaz Singh, who was often on the money but not the best at convincing others, has landed a slot on the BBC Asian Network radio station, while fizzy rosé enthusiast and everyone's most-wanted adopted mum Diane Carson is part of the current run of Celebrity MasterChef.

A third British season is on the way, and it looks like we might be getting our own celebrity version as well.

Earlier this year, host Claudia Winkleman said that she wanted to stop the UK version after the second run, as she wasn't sure it could be bettered.

"I was reluctant to do the second and now I'm extra reluctant to do the third," she said. "I'm like, 'Guys, just leave it! It did okay, leave it!'"

The Traitors US season 3 will air on Peacock in America, and on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
