Two dead, one critical after separate, early Sunday South Nashville shootings. Info sought

Two people are dead and another is injured in separate shootings after a violent weekend in South Nashville.

Both shootings were reported early Sunday morning. No exact times were given in the cases, and investigators haven't said if they believe the two are connected.

In the first case, Nashville police said a vehicle pulled up next to another one in the parking lot of Bucanas Night Club on Nolensville Pike. Multiple men exited the vehicle and opened fire on a group of men, police said.

Yasser Paz, 18 and Kyaw Naing, 20 were both hit by bullets.

Police said Paz and Naing were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where Paz died. Naing remained in critical condition Monday.

Two friends of Paz and Naing were not injured in the shooting, police said.

In a separate shooting Sunday, about 7.2 miles from Bucanas Nigh Club, police said Dorothy Stephenson, 32, was fatally shot in a targeted shooting on Green Street in the Napier area.

Police said Stephenson was found in the passenger seat of a black Chevrolet Tahoe. She died at the scene.
