Two men killed when Durham County Sheriff’s deputies said one shot the other and then himself at a family gathering Friday have been identified.

Witnesses told Sheriff’s Office investigators that Alton Antonio Wall, 59, of Hillsborough, shot Gregory Lee, 62, of Durham, just before 10:30 p.m. Friday during an argument at a home on the 6200 block of Edsel Road in the Lebanon area. Wall then shot himself, witnesses said.

Lee died at the scene from his injuries, Durham County investigators said. Wall was taken to a local hospital where he also died, they said. The two men knew each other, witnesses told deputies.

The bodies have been sent to the N.C. Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsies to determine the official cause of death, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Investigators do not expect to file charges in the case, the Sheriff’s Office said.

There is no danger to the public, officials said. Anyone with information about the shooting can contact the Durham County Sheriff’s Office at 919-560-0900.
