Um...Ben Affleck Purchased His New Los Angeles Home on Jennifer Lopez’s Birthday
Sooo...there’s another slightly messy update on Bennifer’s ever-evolving real estate transactions. You know how Ben Affleck just bought himself a $20.5 million home in Los Angeles without J.Lo? Yeah, well, apparently the purchase went down on her birthday, which is...a choice!
People reports that Ben bought the home on July 24, aka the same day J.Lo turned 55 in the Hamptons, where she’s been spending much of the summer. Meanwhile, the actor/singer/icon sold her NYC condo on the same day.
Obviously, buying a place is a multiday process so it’s not as if Ben woke up on J.Lo’s birthday and said, “Today seems like a totally fine and not-at-all awkward day to close on a bachelor pad!” That! Said!!! It *does* seem clear that the couple had been making moves to live separately.
On top of Ben buying his new digs, he and J.Lo have listed their mega-mansion in Los Angeles for $68 million. As for where the musician plans on living, back in June, TMZ reported that she was “already looking for a new house.”
Entertainment Tonight also spoke to a source who confirmed the following: “Jen is touring houses and shopping around for her own home. She has been leaning on her mom, sisters, and kids during this transitional period.”
The outlet also reported that Ben was “sad” about the state of their marriage but was focusing on “work, being a great dad, and co-parenting well with Jennifer Garner,” as well as leaning on his “close circle of guy friends,” including Matt Damon.
