Personally, I like to keep it very demure, very mindful when I’m in the kitchen. I'm not doing anything too crazy, I'm keeping it simple and cutesy when I whip up a snack or dinner. If you’re completely confused by what I'm saying, then let me explain the now-viral TikTok trend. The content creator, Jools Lebron, brought the word demure back to daily conversation with her videos showing how she stays demure and mindful in daily situations, from getting ready for work to exiting a plane.

There are no strict rules for what food is demure—as long you are being mindful, then that’s all that matters. When rounding up these recipes, I kept three words in mind: simple, easy, and—of course—cutesy. If you just can’t decide what you’re feeling but need something that will keep you demure in the kitchen, then one of these dinners, drinks, apps, and desserts should be next on your rotation.

Blueberry Jam Gin Spritz

See how I don't waste any leftover jam, and instead turn it into a gin spritz? Very demure, very mindful—not wasteful! This blueberry jam and gin version is one of my favorites, but the best thing about this cocktail hack is how customizable it is.

Prosecco Grapes

Prosecco grapes are the definition of cutesy. Instead of serving glasses of bubbly, I'm very demure by serving these Prosecco-soaked and sugar-coated grapes.

Peach Bruschetta

When I serve a party, I like to keep the spread very cutesy. I don't want to overload with too many big appetizers, I like to keep things dainty and bite-sized. This sweet peach and tomato bruschetta gets paired with ricotta and a hot honey drizzle for a sweet bite with a little bit of heat.

Homemade Soft Serve Ice Cream

I don't like to go out to the store during my movie night. Instead of running out to get ice cream, I like to make my own homemade soft serve. It's cutesy and also a great activity to make and customize with friends.
