Visit pop-up galleries at Downtown West Palm Beach Art Festival this weekend at The Square
The 13th annual Downtown West Palm Beach Art Festival — one of the first art festivals of the season — is this weekend at The Square on Rosemary Avenue.
The festival includes original artwork in a juried show with pieces that were chosen from hundreds of applicants, Howard Alan Events, the festival's producer, said in a news release.

Admission to the festival is free. It will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 700 S. Rosemary Ave., West Palm Beach.
The Downtown West Palm Beach Art Festival includes about 100 pop-up galleries where patrons can meet artists to discuss each piece of work, the news release said.
The works include ceramics, collage, glass, jewelry, paintings, photography, sculptures, wood carvings and mixed media.

Among the artists whose work will be featured this weekend:
Ilkin Deniz, from Wellington, is a hyper-realist painter who works in oil and acrylic to create nautical scenes that often are mistaken for photographs.
Salem Barker is a master woodworker from Illinois. He cuts, shapes, dyes, laminates and mounts his designs, all by hand.
Sandra Erden is a jewelry maker from Miami. Her piece "Solo Emerald" was created by running a silver slab through a rolling mill. She fire-cut the edges and then finished the piece with gold accents and a stone mounting.
Tolga Zipkinkurt is a miniaturist from Istanbul, Turkey, who created intricate models and wall-hangings. He uses mixed media in his work "to recreate nostalgia-invoking scenes from everyday life and beyond," the news release said.
