Vote: Augusta-area high school sports athlete of the week, including Week 4 of football
With the first month of high school football in the books, it's time to take a look at last week's top fall sports performers.
The athletes featured in this poll represent the best on-field performers from the past week of high school sports competitions around the Augusta area. For nominations for future polls, please email Will Cheney (wcheney@gannett.com) or message him on X (formerly known as Twitter). Augusta-area athletes from Georgia and South Carolina schools are eligible.
The pole and nominees and results are listed below. The poll will close at 5 p.m. Friday.

Cole Trupp, Greenbrier football
Trupp rushed for 164 yards and five touchdowns in a 43-14 win over Statesboro. He also recorded 10 tackles on defense.
Anthony Jeffery, Thomson football
Jeffery rushed 223 yards and two touchdowns on 36 carries in a 20-13 win over Grovetown.
Ty Jones, Lakeside football
Jones completed 8 of 12 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown in a 21-0 win over Evans. He also added 101 yards and a score on the ground.
Jeanarion Kamga, Westside football
Kamga carried the football 19 times for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 27-12 win over Richmond Academy.
Reante Byrd, Hephzibah football
Byrd rushed for 149 yards on 20 carries in a 22-14 loss to Aquinas.
Sean Vandiver, Burke County football
Vandiver completed 9 of 13 passes for 205 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 50-12 win over Warren County. He also added 31 yards and a score on the ground.
Jane Pennington, Davidson Fine Arts volleyball
Pennington recorded nine kills, nine aces and 11 assists in wins over Glenn Hills (2-0) and Butler (2-0) last week.
Londyn Williams, Burke County volleyball
Williams racked up eight kills during a 2-0 win over Richmond County Technical Career Magnet last week.
Bailee Ussery, North Augusta volleyball
Ussery racked up seven aces and 14 digs in a 2-0 win over Ninety-Six last week.
Addyson Richards, Grovetown volleyball
Richards recorded 11 kills, 14 aces and 13 digs in a 3-1 win over Westminster Schools of Augusta last week.
Journey Buzzell, Harlem volleyball
Buzzell recorded seven kills and 11 aces in a 3-0 win over Hephzibah last week.
Karsynn Tucker, Greenbrier volleyball
Tucker recorded three aces, four digs and 12 assists in a 3-0 win over Alleluia Community School last week.
Reese Janik, Alleluia Community volleyball
Janik racked up nine kills, 17 digs, 12 assists and an ace in a 3-0 loss to Greenbrier last week.
Jane Stewart, Grovetown cross country
Stewart (21:55.61 took the top spot in the girls varsity 5,000-meter race at the Piedmont XC Festival in Athens last week.
Maddy Harl, Grovetown softball
Harl went 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run, two doubles and three RBI in a 15-0 win over Rockdale County last week.
Braedyn Quarles, Evans softball
Quarles went 1-for-2 at the plate with a double, HBP and two RBI in a 21-9 loss to Brantley County last week.
Shantrisse Williams, Cross Creek softball
Williams went 3-for-3 at the plate with four RBI and three stolen bases in a 22-8 win over Westside last week.

Houston went 2-for-2 with three RBI and three stolen bases in a 22-8 loss to Cross Creek last week.
Janiya Scott, Thomson softball
Scott hit a solo home run in a 16-8 win over Josey last week.
Denahja Curry, Josey softball
Curry hit a double and drove in three runs in a 16-8 loss to Thomson last week.
Cam Nixon, Cross Creek football
Nixon caught nine passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns in a 51-22 loss to Baldwin.
Levi Murphey, Westminster Schools of Augusta football
Murphey completed 13 of 23 passes for 206 yards and four touchdowns in 54-24 win over Harvester Christian. He also added 105 rushing yards and a pair of scores on 10 carries.
