VOTE: Brockton-area high school football defensive/special teams player of the week

West Bridgewater's Gage Turner has been voted the Enterprise Defensive/Special Teams Player of the week for week one of Brockton-area high school football.

Turner was the leader on his defense in a loss to Manchester Essex. The sophomore made timely plays and tackles to keep his team in the game and will be an effective part of the Wildcats defense moving forward.

Now, onto this week's defensive nominees. Voting will remain open for a week and votes are unlimited.

Ahmad Wiggins, Brockton: Wiggins recorded 9 total tackles (7 solo) and a sack in a 10-7 loss on the road to Barnstable.

Jared Mighty, Brockton: Mighty had an interception and two passes deflected to go along with two tackles. He also averaged 44.7 yards on three punts.

Michael Reilly, Abington: The Green Wave quarterback had an interception on defense, helping his team hold Apponequet to 14 points in a 42-14 win. He also threw for over 200 yards and 4 TDs on offense.

Robby Dobbin, Oliver Ames: Dobbin went 4-for-4 on his extra point attempts in a 41-28 loss to North Quincy.

Colin Howarth, Oliver Ames: Howarth had a pass deflection in the Tigers' secondary in the loss against North Quincy.

Jacob Smith, West Bridgewater: Smith went 4-for-4 on PATs in a 28-14 win on the road over Rockland.

Riley Harris, West Bridgewater: Harris had a strip sack on Rockland to help seal a 28-14 win.

Drew Bollin, Bridgewater-Raynham: Bollin went 3-3 on his PAT kicks in a lossto Plymouth South.
