Walmart Is Selling Special Dunkin' Donut Milkbone Dog Treats for a Limited Time

Dog treats are an important part of any pup parent's daily life. We use them for everything, from bribery (which we shouldn't, but do anyway) to training and even just being sweet.

Finding out your dog's favorite treat might not be as easy as it sounds, though. There are hundreds of options in the world, and it seems like they're only multiplying! Dunkin' has officially decided to throw their hat in the ring. You can find these fun new treats hitting shelves now:

These are the Milk-Bone x Dunkin' Maple Bacon Vanilla Dipped dog treats, which retail for under $5 on Walmart's website. They're shaped just like a regular donut, and they have a vanilla yogurt glaze dip on the bottom and the same glaze drizzled on the top. They're about 33 kcal per treat, which makes them the perfect tossing treat for a bigger dog. You could also split them into smaller pieces for smaller dogs!

This isn't the first time Dunkin' has decided to get into the dog game: just last week, they launched their newest collection of Dunkin' inspired dog toys with BARK, the dog toy company. You can find those toys in Dunkin' stores all over, and these treats are available at Walmart, Target, Petsmart, and a few other retailers.

Just like with their BARK dog toy collection, these treats were created in support of the Dunkin Joy In Childhood Foundation. Pick up a bag while you still can!

How to Choose a Good Dog Treat

Different dogs have different preferences for what they like to eat, and cracking that code will be a lifesaver when you're trying to train or bribe your pup to do something. However, it's important to choose one that's also good for them. In this case, these treats aren't too calorically dense, which makes them a fine once-in-a-while option. The yogurt glaze is a much better option than a traditional sugar-based glaze, which can be found in other treats.

When choosing treats for your dog, you need to consider:

  1. The size of your dog. Choose smaller treats for smaller dogs.

  2. The dog's specific needs; you can find treats full of probiotics, dental chews, protein, etc.

  3. The ingredients. Try not to buy treats for your dog that you have to have at least a Master's Degree to read.

  4. Their tastebuds. Buying treats that you think they'll like without considering their favorite flavors is a surefire way to waste a few bucks!

If you get a bag of dog treats and find that your pup doesn't love them, most stores will allow returns. However, if that's not an option, some animal shelters will accept open bags of treats or food as long as they're in their original packaging and still in-date. Call around and ask!
