Wednesday's Jenna Ortega Debuts Short Hair in Sheer, Goth Dress and Metal Corset

Good morning to Jenna Ortega, and Jenna Ortega only, because the Wednesday actress is singlehandedly keeping the goth/punk vibes alive.

Jenna plays the titular role in Netflix’s smash hit spinoff of the Addams Family story, and because no Wednesday Addams is complete without her jet-black wardrobe, you already know that Miss Jenna delivered some high-fashion emo looks. Her Alaïa prom dress in the viral Wednesday dance scene is probably the most memorable, but Wednesday’s school uniform and pigtail braids are kind of a vibe, too. Jenna (like the rest of us, TBH) has been taking inspo from her moody character with the vampy, goth outfits she’s been wearing recently — Wednesdaycore, anyone?

Jenna recently made her debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and her wardrobe did 👏 not 👏 disappoint 👏 with a little help from stylist Enrique Melendez, who put her in an incredible Wednesday-inspired getup. The actress wore a long, sheer Dolce & Gabbana dress with a black bodysuit underneath. The frock featured white dress shirt cuffs and a sharp, contrasting collar with a black tie that mimicked the preppy Nevermore Academy uniform, and the whole look was cinched together with a metal corset belt. The actress was sure-footed in platform stilettos from Aminah Abdul Jillil and accessorized with jewelry by Kat Kim.

And can we take a sec to talk about her new ‘do? Jenna debuted a shaggy, rockstar-worthy lob on The Tonight Show courtesy of hairstylist Dave Stanwell, who switched up her sleek black pigtails for a warm, sunkissed reddish-brown shag cut with plenty of texture. The actress ditched her straight-across bangs for a ‘70s-style fringe and we’re so here for it.

Jenna posted a few captionless snaps of her own for her 30 million Instagram followers (for perspective, the actress has gained over 20 million followers since the show hit Netflix) to show off her edgy new look. "I think maybe I um…. when you um… I think…uh *gulp* …. hi,” commented Emma Myers, who plays Enid Sinclair in Wednesday. “So real for this,” chimed in Laurie Hernandez.
