Willie Nelson Expects to Make a "Quick Recovery" After Cancelling Appearances

Don't worry, country music fans. Willie Nelson has been feeling under the weather, but it sounds like the 91-year-old icon will be "On the Road Again" very soon.

A statement on his official Instagram account revealed that, due to an illness, Willie was cancelling appearances on his Outlaw Fest t0ur. The show would go on, thanks to performances by his son, Lukas Nelson, along with Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, and Celisse.

The statement reads, "We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctor's orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days. He is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week."

Willie was flooded with supportive comments from fans and well-wishers, telling the singer to "Rest up Willie, the world still needs you! ❤️"

Some fans were alarmed by the stark delivery of the message and wrote, "When it comes to someone who’s 91 years old. You're going to have to say 'he’s ok but isn’t feeling well' not 'we regret to inform you'" and "the way my heart dropped."

According to Today, a representative for Willie offered further reassurance: "Willie will be fine. I live in Los Angeles and will fly next week to see the performances on the east coast. I can’t wait."

The announcement does not explain exactly when Willie will return to the stage, but the tour continues through the summer and into September, with stops across the country.
