Winter All-County: Which Palm Beach County boys wrestlers dominated the mat this season?

The Palm Beach County High School Sports Awards is proud to announce the Player of the Year nominees for boys wrestling. The winners will be announced during the live show on Wednesday, June 5, at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
The show is presented with the support of Baptist Health Orthopedic Care.
During the live show, athletes of the year in 31 state-sanctioned sports will be honored. In addition, top teams, coaches and overall athletes will be honored as will a Courage Award winner. Nominated athletes who RSVP will receive a complimentary ticket to the event thanks to sponsors. Details on how additional tickets can be obtained will be available soon.

The Palm Beach County High School Sports Awards show is part of the USA TODAY High School Sports Awards, the largest high school sports recognition program in the country. This year, one school from the area will win a $1,000 donation to its school’s athletic department through our School Spirit Contest. Details on how to vote for your school will be coming soon.
First-Team All-County Boys Wrestling
Jorge Bravo, Palm Beach Gardens
Competing all year in the 113 weight class, Bravo won the district championships before placing second place in regionals and a third-place finish at the state tournament. The senior also tallied five first-place finishes in events during the regular season.
Chris Schnobrick, Olympic Heights
Competing in the 106 weight class, Schnobrick won a district championship and placed fourth in the regional tournament. The Lions wrestler also posted four different first-place finishes during the regular season.
James Kosza, Wellington
Kosza competed in the 144-pound weight class this year, winning a district and regional championship. He also placed sixth at the state tournament and then finished his postseason with a second-place finish at the 2024 FAWA Folkstyle State Championship.
Daniel Alvarez, Spanish River
Competing in the 150 weight class, Alvarez posted a pair of second-place finishes in both the district and regional tournaments this season, ending his year with a fourth-place finish at states. Three other first-place finishes in the regular season made for a successful year.
Giovanni De Angeles, Park Vista
The Cobras wrestler competed in the 165 weight class, taking home first-place finishes in the district and regional championships before finishing fourth at states.
Dwayne Shaw, Wellington
Shaw competed in the 175 weight class, finishing the 2024 season with a first-place finish at districts, a second-place finish at regionals, and an eighth-place finish at the state tournament.
Corrado DeSantis, Dwyer
DeSantis competed in the 190 weight class, finishing his year with a first-place finish at districts, a second-place finish at regionals, and an eighth-place finish at the state tournament.
Jaylin Bien-Aime, Palm Beach Gardens
Bien-Aime competed in the 215 weight class, finishing his year with a first-place finish at districts, a second-place finish at regionals, and a fourth-place finish at the state tournament.
Sam Marvel, Wellington
Wrestling in both the 126 and 132 eight classes this year, Marvel won championships in both the district and regional tournaments before finishing his season with a third-place medal at states.
Russell Crum, Wellington
Crum won a district championship this year, and although injuries prevented further postseason success, the Wolverines wrestler still posted a successful campaign.
Mark Bonfante, Wellington
Bonfante won a district championship and placed fourth in the regional tournament before finishing with a 1-2 record at the state championship.
Coach of the Year
Travis Gray, Wellington
Gray led Wellington to an appearance in the state semifinals this season, leading a group of talented seniors in their final high school seasons. Under his watch, nine boys — as well as four girls — qualified for the state championship, among which five finished with top-eight finishes.
