Who won NASCAR Xfinity race at Watkins Glen? Winner is Connor Zilisch, plus full results
The checkered flag has flown for the NASCAR Xfinity Series Mission 200 at The Glen at Watkins Glen International.
Connor Zilisch earned his first career win in his first career start on Saturday. The driver of the No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet beat Sheldon Creed to the line to take the checkered flag. Zilisch led 45 of 90 laps in a race that went to double overtime and finished after 90 laps.
Zilisch also overcame a penalty with 34 laps to go for missing the inner loop, otherwise known as the "bus stop" corner, under caution and fought back to win the race.
Saturday's race had seven cautions and featured 10 lead changes. The race was red-flagged for 22 minutes after an accident occurred in turn 1 including Austin Hill, Anthony Alfredo, William Byron, Ed Jones and Sammy Smith.
