Zoë Kravitz Calls Channing Tatum the ‘Love’ of Her ‘Life’ in Emotional Speech at “Blink Twice” Premiere

The film, which marks Kravitz's directorial debut, stars Tatum as a tech billionaire who invites a group of people to his private island

Zoë Kravitz is revealing exactly how much Channing Tatum means to her.

The actress, 35, shared an emotional speech about getting to work with her fiancé in Blink Twice — which also marks her directorial debut — during the film’s premiere at the DGA Theater on Thursday, Aug. 8.

PEOPLE was on hand for Kravitz's sweet words.

“You supported me in every way,” Kravitz told Tatum, 44, who also stars in the movie. “From producing to performing to the pep talks to holding my head or my feet while I cried on the bathroom floor because I thought I f----- it all up.”

Kravitz went on to thank Tatum for his “patience” and letting her “be a complete OCD, psycho, control freak” when it came to working on her new film. She also highlighted the joys of getting to work with her significant other to create this story.

“Making this film with you has been an awfully great adventure,” she said. “Thank you for trusting me to female direct you.”

“It’s really very cool to get to make a movie, but when you get to do it with the love of your life, it's even cooler,” she added.

The Magic Mike star echoed her sentiments on the red carpet, telling PEOPLE that he had a great experience working with Kravitz on Blink Twice.

"To get to create something with someone that you love is probably one of the most gratifying things other than having a kid with somebody I think," Tatum said of what the "best part" about shooting a movie with his other half was.

"It's one of those ... you truly are creating something from nothing and it's just like creating a marriage or creating something where you're like, everything that we are is going into this thing and you want to make it with people that you love," he added.

Kravitz and Tatum, who confirmed their engagement in October 2023 after being romantically linked in 2021, stepped out for a red carpet date night at the premiere for Blink Twice in matching black ensembles.

The Big Little Lies star donned a silk black backless Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello gown with triangle-shaped cutouts by her waist for the occasion, while her beau looked dapper in a black suit, white button down, a white pocket square, and black leather loafers.

In addition to Tatum, the moviealso stars Naomi Ackie, Adria Arjona, Haley Joel Osment, Alia Shawkat (among others). The movie follows Ackie, 31, as a cocktail waitress named Frida who “becomes infatuated” with Tatum’s tech billionaire Slater King, per a synopsis. Frida “travels with him to his private island, where things begin to go wrong."

Blink Twice premieres in theaters on Aug. 23.
